Pixc: Photo Resize ("the App") provides automated product photo resizing to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. The App is operated by Pixc, Inc. ("Pixc", "we", "our", or "us").
This Privacy Policy describes what information the App collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It applies to the App only. Our website and other Pixc services are covered by a separate policy at www.pixc.com.
We handle personal information in line with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and the Australian Privacy Act 1988 where applicable.
Who the App is for
The App is a business tool for Shopify merchants. It is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age.
What the App collects
Information we receive from Shopify
When you install the App, we receive the following from your Shopify store through the Shopify API:
- Store information — store name, store URL, store contact email address, phone number, and country.
- Product information — product names, product images, product variants, and collections.
The App does not access, collect, or store your shoppers’ personal information. We do not receive order data, buyer names, buyer email addresses, or shipping addresses.
Information you give us directly
- Account and contact details for you and anyone who uses the App on behalf of your store, such as name and email address.
- Messages you send us through support channels.
Information collected automatically
When you use the App or visit our website, we collect log and device information, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, time zone, referring and exit pages, page views, session activity, and date and time stamps. We collect this using cookies, log files, and similar technologies such as tags and pixels.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can manage or block cookies through your browser or device settings.
How we use your information
- To provide the App — resizing your product images, managing your account and plan, and restoring images where your plan supports it.
- To provide support — responding to your questions, concerns, and requests.
- To improve the App — analysing how the App is used so we can fix problems and build better features.
- To send service messages — billing, plan changes, security notices, policy updates, and other messages needed to operate the App. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account.
- To send product update emails — news about new features and improvements to the App. Every one of these includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
- To meet legal obligations — complying with applicable law and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
- To protect rights — enforcing our terms and protecting Pixc, our merchants, and others.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use information received from Shopify to build advertising audiences or to target you with ads on third-party platforms.
Who we share it with
We share personal information with service providers who help us run the App, and only to the extent they need it to perform their service for us. Our providers currently include:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting and storage
- Runpod — AI image processing
- Intercom — customer support
- Mixpanel — product analytics
- Segment — analytics routing
- Mailchimp / Mandrill — email delivery
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager — website analytics
- Meta (Facebook) — website analytics and advertising measurement
Billing for the App is handled by Shopify through Shopify Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
This list may change as our tools change. We may also disclose personal information to professional advisors, or where required to comply with the law, respond to a lawful request, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where your information is stored
Your information is stored on servers located in the European Union. It may be accessed by Pixc and our service providers from other countries where we operate. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for these transfers.
How long we keep it
Product images — images processed by the App are retained for a limited period that depends on your plan, so you can restore them if needed. After that period they are deleted. A grace period applies after the retention period ends, and uninstalling the App starts that grace period.
Account and store information — kept while your account is active, and afterwards only for as long as we need it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner by contacting us at hello@pixc.com.
Your rights
These rights apply to everyone who uses the App, regardless of where you are located:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or update it
- Ask us to delete it
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we process it
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it
- Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format

Data requests and deletion through Shopify
As a Shopify app, we support Shopify’s data request and deletion process. Shopify can send us requests on your behalf to provide or delete data associated with your store, and we action them within 30 days.
When you uninstall the App, Shopify notifies us and we delete the data associated with your store, subject to the retention and grace periods described above and to any information we are required to keep by law.
Marketing preferences
- Product update emails include an unsubscribe link. Clicking it stops them.
- Service emails continue while you have an account. If you do not want to receive them, you can close your account by contacting us.
- You can opt out of analytics tracking using the opt-out tools offered by Google Analytics and Mixpanel, and manage cookies through your browser settings.
How we protect your information
Your information is stored on secure servers, with access limited to Pixc staff who need it to do their job. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we take security seriously and use appropriate safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@pixc.com.
Links to other sites
The App and our website may link to third-party websites and applications. Those sites are not covered by this policy, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, so please check back periodically. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
